Amotz is a Hebrew name that means “strong as an eagle”. In the Torah, Amotz was a prophet and the father of the famous prophet Isaiah. The name is still used today in Jewish culture as a strong and meaningful name for a boy. Interestingly, the name Amotz also has a special place in Israeli aviation history. The Israeli Air Force named one of their most advanced spy planes after Amotz, calling it the Eitam (Hebrew for “strong as an eagle”).
